Hey, It's been quite a while since I posted something substantial. I felt semi-squelched by my previous employer. Well.. actually.. Just when I thought I wouldn't have to worry about upgrading mg2 for a while a generous user decides to donate a server to us! As you know.. there is no more free hosting at mg2.org.. after 5+ years of serving the internet. It was a really hard thing to do. There are a few reasons for this. We couldn't support enough people The user system defined hardware limitations and requirements but did not limit people requirements. Nothing scaled. One box. One set of users. nox.mg2.org, mg2.org (free) primary is down. this is bad. this is the third time this has happened since the box has gone into the data center. Something's failing pretty hard. I'm not sure what it is. I asked the people at the ISP to tell me the status of the server to try and help deduce what exactly is happening.
