Around this time of year I would usually put up an announcement on mg2.org going something like:
12/5 - Finally recovered from new years eve! Changed the year to 2006.
But alas.. not this year. Though I still haven't recovered from new years eve.. and it has nothing to do with alcohol. Overall this year.. 2006.. started with a reminder of my mortality.. as well as the mortality of everyone I know. People going into the hospital sucks. People coming out is ok.. but .. not everyone who goes in comes out. My grandfather is probably going to die. That really is harder to take than I thought it would be. My mom almost died.. that was impossible to take. If she had I donno what I would have done. But things are slowly getting back to normal.
I haven't really posted much lately, for this I'm sorry ? I am not a content machine. I'm a hacker. Though I could write some nifty tutorials. I'm going to go through the paces here..
Christmas 05 was a smash success. I got my xbox 360 ;).. kriss got a nice takamine acoustic guitar.. I got a ronco food dehydrator from sean.. yet to make turkey jerkey though. I got a pressure cooker from my mom.. very nifty that thing.. I can make tender meat in almost no time. I'm very impressed with it. High def makes me never want to go back.. on the 360.. its fucking amazing. Though I can't get over the air HDTV to come in right at all. It's such a pain. I'm going to take back my tuner and maybe give in to comcast. Depending on how good of a deal they can give me.
I'm presently firing up knoppix to back up my mom's data .. im trying to build her a stable computer out of 4 computers.. i have high hopes for this project but i haven't been making much progress.. spent too much time setting things up. Should get back to work.
