When Chrono Trigger (the best game of all time) is rated #4 by a stupid IGN reader's poll you know the world has turned to ass. While #4 should be considered impressive given the game's age, you have to question why Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Zelda64, and Resident Evil 4 all ended up ahead of CT.
The strongest aspect of CT is it's story. And stories are timeless. That's why in 2005 CT still reigns as the best game of all time. I haven't played Splinter Cell or Resident Evil 4 (though I own RE4.. i think i watched kriss play through the first segment while i had alcohol poisioning) so i kind of feel like i don't have ground to stand on. I would have conceeded #1 to Half Life 2, which attains perfection in other ways than story. Like an efficient graphics engine, an impressive use of physics, excellent art work, and a seamless online component. They really did things right. But the story doesn't hold a candle to CT. Im going to play RE4. It better really honest to god be the best game of all time or im gunna .. rant again.

Never played Chrono, but I bet it was better than Chaos Theory, which really isn't very fun at all. RE4's pretty damn good too, but Zelda, o sweet sweet Zelda. #1 for me. New one enda 2005.

Chrono Trigger > Zelda 3 > Zelda 64.
